I need a scarf ... Here, kitty, kitty, kitty ...

Pet fur: I don't know about you, but it gives me a serious allergy attack. Sneezing, watery, itchy eyes, red nose, the whole kit and kaboodle - all symptoms of my allergy, which is why I am quite intrigued by something I read today in the paper.

Apparently, a couple of entrepreneurs have come up with the idea of fashioning blankets, scarves and other items from pet fur. One of the founders of this company actually says her new scarf, which is made from her beloved dog's fur, is a "gift" from the pet. Eek!

I'm not slamming this company - we all have to make a buck here and there to survive, but it just seems rather tedious to gather your pet's fur long enough to have the amount it would take to create a luxury blanket. I know my cat sheds like mad, but still ... Plus, dogs have a distinct smell oftentimes. Although the company says it rids the hairs of any odor, I have to ask - what happens when it gets wet? Ew.

I'm intrigued. But not enough to try this out. But, if any of you are and you don't have a cat or a dog - never fear! They also can use fur from sheep, alpaca, bison, rabbits, hamsters, cows and horses.
