Project Runway, where are you?!?

This is the second week in a row that I've come home from work to watch my beloved "Project Runway," and it hasn't been on at its normal 1 a.m. re-airing time. Last week it was a previous episode, and this week it was the oh-so boring "Million Dollar Listing."

What gives?!?

So, I do not have a reaction post ... I'm just hoping I'll get to see this week's episode at some point before next week's reunion show. This is yet another example of why working nights can really screw with a person's schedule.

Anyhow ... I'm sorry I've completely neglected my blog. I've been running all over the place lately, and it's been good - but I've been sooo tired. I'm ready for some time off, and thank goodness next month I've got five days of vacation. Three of those days will be spent in Statesboro for Georgia Southern's homecoming game against App. State.

God, please let us kick their butts ...

So, that's definitely something to look forward to! And then there's my cruise, which is rapidly approaching in early December. I can't wait to hit the white sands of the Bahamas. It's been two years since my last true vacation, and this is much, much, much-needed.

Tickled pink

You know how sometimes things just fall into place without so much as a push? When that happens, it's amazing ... and that's how things have been for me lately.

I'm not going into details just yet, but I will say that I'm having fun with life ... and that's not been something I've been doing enough over the last several years.

With that said ... the weekend is upon us, and I hope everyone has FUN!

I must have missed something ...

Does anyone know why "Project Runway" didn't air yesterday?
I'm very confused.

Oh yeah, I'm on fire!

Behold my horoscope for Monday:
Ooh-la-la! You are hot stuff for the next couple of days. Make sure not to believe your own press to the point that you think you are above the limitations of mere mortals.
Watch out, world! Ha, ha ...

My legs, my butt, my legs, my butt!

I'm feeling the burn, but it's the good burn that comes from exercising what needed to be exercised years ago.

For the past several weeks, a Holly and I have been walking four days a week at the local River Walk, and wow I can really feel it. Monday we walked for nearly THREE hours. I have no idea how far we walk on any given day, but we stay out for at least an hour - usually longer.

It feels good, I must say. But it also kind of hurts!

Here's to skinny legs and less flab!

So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye.

Yes, yes ... there is, in fact, a God in heaven who knows fashion. And, by the grace of God, the judges of "Project Runway" finally grasped Vincent's absurd incompetence.

Poor Vincent had very little clue as to the meaning of couture - or the meaning of "that gets me off," for that matter. His use of that expression was enough for me to feel a little woozy. Combine that very loaded (ahem) saying with his horridly bor-ring designs, and I was stunned each week that he managed to sqeak by.

But no more. ... He's OUT. And really, that's all there is to say. Well, I will add a hallelujah - for good measure.

Myspace, you are so cool

Yes, yes ... I know. Myspace is for teenagers, college students and adults who are desperate for attention. Stick me in the last category because that's got to be where I fit - considering I'm no teen, and college was 6 very short years ago.

No, I'm not looking for dates or an infinite number of "friends" ... but I have had the fortune of reconnecting with a few old friends who have been missing from my daily life for a number of years. And I must say, it's been cool.

First there was Diane, who was my best friend in 2nd and 3rd grades while our families were stationed in Okinawa, Japan, in the 1980s. We've exchanged emails and old photos and updates of ourselves and our families. It's both amazing and odd at the same time, but wow ... that was such a long time ago, and hearing from her was a huge blast from the past.

Then there was a couple friends from college who had pretty much fallen off my radar for years. I'd often wondered if Joel and April had worked out their differences and finally gotten married ... turns out they did not. Joel is still single and is an artist in Atlanta. Vanessa is also in Atlanta working for a university and has had a number of life changes - all of which I've just recently heard about.

And out of nowhere, I get a friend request from Chad. A friend who knew how to make everyone laugh, knew how to party, and who still holds the rights to the craziest thing that ever happened in the parking lot of our college house. (We'll save that for another day).

Chad lives in Woodstock, Ga., just a few miles from my best friend's house in the same town. Small world, I guess. Anyhow, I met up with him after all these years on Saturday. We had the best time just catching up and, of course, telling old college stories. One thing we realized was that, although we saw each other on a regular basis in college, we never really knew each other at all. Learning how much we had - and still have - in common is very cool.

Plans have been made for hockey games and movie nights, and it's so weird to think that I've gained an old friend thanks to a site that I still roll my eyes at - even though it's so cool.
